What/who inspired you to get into this field?
My inspiration to join this field stemmed from my orthopaedic biomechanics class I took my junior year at Rose. I loved learning about joints and the implants used to fix them.
What classes would you recommend for this field (high school and college)?
Definitely any biomechanics class in college. For the high school level, I would suggest taking as many biology/physiology classes available.
What are some other companies that employ graduates in this field?
The main orthopaedic companies are Zimmer, Depuy, Stryker and Smith & Nephew. However, there are many more that are also on that list.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is knowing even my small participation in such a large company is making a difference in someone’s quality of life.
