Photosynthesis

12 H_{2}O\ +\ 6 CO_{2}\ +\ light \ \rightarrow\ C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}\ +\ 6H_{2}O\ +\ 6O_{2}

Chlorophyll captures the photons from sunlight which is used to split water molecules. The hydrogen from the water combines with the CO_{2} in the Calvin cycle to make C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}.

Calvin Cycle – following the carbon atoms

When 2 PGAL meet in cytoplasm, they form C_{6}H_{12}O_{6}. Need many rotations to make 1 glucose.
