Building a Cladogram
Cladogram- a diagram showing how evolutionary lines branched from common ancestors
- List characteristics of the organisms
- Clade – group of species that includes all descendants; a complete branch
- Monophyletic group – all descendants from a single common ancestor
- Derived character- A trait that arose in the most recent common ancestors and was passed to its descendants; every branch point represents a derived character
