A bike racer competitor starts a course by traveling the distance shown below during the first 3 seconds of the race. How many feet did he travel after 64 seconds.

$a_{n}=a_{1}+(n-1)d$

$a_{64}=\ ?$

$a_{1}=12$

$n=64$

$d=13.5-12=1.5$

$a_{64}=12+(64-1)1.5$

$a_{64}=106.5$

$s_{n}=\frac{n}{2}(a_{1}+a_{n})$

$s_{64}=\frac{64}{2}(12+106.5)=3792\ ft$
