Graphing Quadratic Functions

Find the zeroes of $y=x^{4}-4$ . State if it has a maximum or minimum value. Graph the function.

$y=x^{4}-4$

$0=x^{4}-4$

$(x-2)(x+2)=0$

$x-2=0\rightarrow x-2+2=0+2\rightarrow x=2$

$x+2=0\rightarrow x+2-2=0-2\rightarrow x=-2$

$zeroes:\ (2,\ 0),\ (-2,\ 0)$

Parabola opens up which means that we have a minimum value.

minimum value: (0, -4)
